WELLNESS COACHING
WHAT IS WELLNESS?
Wellness is a condition that enables us to achieve our highest priorities in life. It includes physical health and fitness, emotional balance, mental focus, and clarity of purpose.
Wellness calls for specific behaviors in areas such as physical activity, nutrition, managing medical conditions, and dealing effectively with stress.

WHAT IS COACHING?
Coaching is a model of professional support. Coaches have long been employed to help athletes and executives achieve peak performance. Wellness coaches help ordinary people achieve peak health and well-being.
The coach works with each client to design a wellness plan that:
- Integrates multiple aspects of well-being into a single vision
- Invigorates the vision by tapping into deep-seated values
- Draws on client success and strengths to build confidence
- Looks forward to predict and deal with challenges
- Designs specific steps that the client will take toward the vision
Qualities to look for in a coach include:
- Great listening skills and a genuine desire to hear about you
- Unconditional acceptance of who you are and who you want to be
- An ability to inspire, energize, and challenge you to grow
- The insight to see your unique strengths, even when you don’t
- A passion for celebrating victories, small and large.
- Playfulness, humor, and optimism
IS COACHING RIGHT FOR YOU?
Coaching is not for everyone, nor is it appropriate at all times in a person’s life. Coaching is especially helpful for people dealing with transitions — such as a recently empty nest, a new medical diagnosis, promotion into a new job, retirement, or changes in family responsibility.
